​​With some of the highest elevations in the Southeast, it's no surprise that mountain biking is a popular pastime for area outdoor enthusiasts. With a variety of options from beginner to advanced the Greater Gatlinburg area in both Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina feature a huge array of mountain biking trails.

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK​

America’s most visited national park, Great Smoky Mountains, is an ideal getaway. Hike, camp, and experience one of America’s oldest mountain ranges.

FISHING​

The Great Smoky Mountains is a fisherman's paradise. In fact its rivers, streams and tributaries are some of the last remaining wild trout habitats in the Eastern United States. With over 2,000 miles of streams within the park boundaries, the Great Smoky Mountains offers a wide variety of angler experiences.

HIKING

Covering more than 521,000 acres the Great Smoky Mountains National Park features more than 800 miles of hiking trails, including nearly 71 miles of the famous Appalachian Trail.

WHITEWATER RAFTING

​The Gatlinburg area has numerous white water rafting options. There are numerous whitewater rafting companies and outfitters to choose from. Guests can opt for a leisurely roll down the river or a wilder ride to remember. There is truly something for everyone.

SNOW SPORTS​

Even though the Appalachian Mountains don't quite measure up to the Alps of Rocky Mountain in elevation, these rugged mountains still offer challenges for the advanced skier and snowboarder, as well as beginner and intermediate runs for all other skill levels. Both Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Cataloochee Ski area have challenging terrain.
